Shay Esposito is an alternative pop artist with a style all her own. Her music touches on topics others shy away from. She is not afraid to share her most intimate experiences in her lyrics. Her music is honest, thought provoking and speaks a truth many are afraid to face.
Music has always been a part of Shay. From the time she was 2 1/2 singing Michael Jackson's song "Billy Jean" to receiving her Grade 4 RCM certification with first class honours, at age 11. She is finding her way as a solo artist in a style as unique as she is.
At the age of 15 Shay became the youngest recipient of the Rawlco Radio 10k/20 grant and recorded and released her first album at the age of 16. She went on to release her second album at 19 years old. Shay has received international recognition for her music as a finalist in the International Songwriting Contest, USA Songwriting Contest, Canadian Songwriting Contest and was a category winner in the UK Songwriting Contest. In 2018 she made top 10 in the Slaight Juno Master Class.
It wasn't until Shay's first album was released that she realized the true impact her music had on others. The outpouring of support from adults and teens alike, who have connected with her lyrics is truly awe inspiring. This prompted Shay to take her music to the next step, to use it as a tool to help others suffering from mental illness. Through her music she shares her own story of perseverance and triumph over mental illness in an effort to bring awareness to this very real issue. Shay continues to write music with real meaning and truth in the hopes that she will continue to inspire others to keep fighting and to never give up, to find what they love and to follow their own path. Dreams do come true.
As Shay moves forward in her journey she is booking dates with schools and other organizations to share her story and her music. Shay is making a difference in this world through her music and by sharing her experiences. Together we can heal our youth.
