March 18th I had the honour of speaking at the Edmonton Jack Satellite Summit. Jack.org is a student led initiative working toward changing the way we think about mental illness. They have Chapters across Canada which are run by College or University students with the exception of the Edmonton Chapter which is run by High School students. They did a fabulous job organizing this event and they should all be very proud of themselves. I really felt connected to this group and I met some really awesome kids. I am so appreciative for their warm welcome and for the support they showed me. It isn't easy to get up and share my story. My anxiety revs into overdrive and I get very nervous. But it is important, for those of us that can, to share our experiences so other teens know that there is hope. It is because if kids like this that I do what I do.
