Why I do what I do?

On October 17, 2015 I stood with a friend while she said goodbye to her 20 yr old brother. It was a very difficult day for her and her family. She wrote an amazing heartfelt song for her brother and we sang it together to honour him and the love she has for him.

People have asked me "why do you speak to youth about mental health, why do you share your story?" I share my story for people like Brett. I do it for those that don't have the strength to keep on fighting, those that can't find their own voice. Only by sharing our stories will we make a difference. If I can help one person to find the hope and strength to keep fighting then I have accomplished something. We cannot lose anymore of our youth to suicide. We need to fight with every ounce of strength that we have. This is why I do what I do. RIP Brett. ‪#‎hopethroughmusic‬ ‪#alwaysremeberedneverforgotten
